Report: Pens' Beau Bennett to Play for WBS Wednesday

Injured Pittsburgh Penguins’ forward Beau Bennett is reportedly set to play in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s game on Wednesday against the Providence Bruins – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

Bennett, who hasn’t performed for Pittsburgh since Nov. 22, was re-assigned to WBS for conditioning on Saturday, and has played in two games so far. Bennett’s totaled one assist in those outings.

Almost ready to return to the Pens’ lineup, Bennett has been recovering from a hand/wrist ailment for about four months, and there’s a possibility he will be re-inserted for Pittsburgh’s tilt against the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.

There’s no confirmation suggesting that he will be suiting up for that game though.

In 12 contests this season, Bennett’s registered three points (1G, 2A).
