Report: Pens Call Up Jayson Megna From WBS

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly called up forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

This move arguably has a direct correlation to forward Joe Vitale’s current upper-body ailment, and we should be looking at Megna providing a spark in tonight’s tilt against the Phoenix Coyotes.

The presumption is that he’ll slot on the third-line, and I think it’s the best pairing for him, given the dynamic he can bring with Brian Gibbons and Brandon Sutter alongside.

In 26 contests this season, Megna’s compiled eight points (5G, 3A) and skated to a plus-2 rating.

The game tonight can be seen on the ROOT Network, and is set to start at 7 p.m.
