Pens Injury Report 3/31: Letang, Martin, Vitale Practice

Injured Pittsburgh Penguins’ defensemen Kris Letang and Paul Martin, and forward Joe Vitale all reportedly practiced Monday – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

For Martin, this is his first full practice since breaking his hand in the Olympics – per head coach Dan Bylsma and the Pens’ Twitter handle – and is a huge step towards his return to the lineup.

There’s a chance he will play in Pittsburgh’s matchup with the Winnipeg Jets, however, that may not happen, and said he’d like to play in Saturday’s game with the Minnesota Wild.

Vitale also returned to full participation in practice, and I’m speculating he could play in Saturday’s contest as well. Vitale’s been sidelined with a mid-body injury, and is on a week-to-week basis.

Letang has been skating with his teammates for nearly a month now, yet, there’s still no timetable for his return. The good news though, is that he hasn’t missed a practice since being cleared to.

Tuesday, Pittsburgh goes for their third win in-a-row, as they get ready to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.

The game can be seen on the ROOT Network, and is set to start at 7 p.m.
