Selected by Pittsburgh in the third-round (80th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Rust has spent the past four seasons at Notre Dame University.
For the 2013-14 campaign, Rust compiled 33 points, garnered a career-high 17 goals, and logged 16 assists. And for the 2012-13 season, Rust collected a career-high in points (34), assists (19), and recorded 15 goals.
Being his last go at Notre Dame, we should expect Rust to perform for the Pens’ farm team, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, next season.
