Pens' Defenseman Paul Martin to Play Tonight Versus Winnipeg

Pittsburgh Penguins’ defenseman Paul martin, whose reportedly been cleared by doctors to play, is set to suit up for Thursday’s game against Winnipeg – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

Due to the details delivered by Sam Kasan of the Pens’ website this morning about Martin slotting on the team’s top power play unit, it was safe to assume Martin’s return was inevitable.

Martin, who has been sidelined with a broken hand since late February, returned to full practice on Monday, and hasn’t missed a session.

Before head coach Dan Bylsma confirmed his return tonight, Martin declared himself ready.

Martin has missed the last 18 games, and 43 overall.

In 33 contests this season, Martin’s collected 12 points (2G, 10A) and skated to a minus-1 rating.
