The Pittsburgh Penguins are second in the Eastern Conference with a record of 51-24-5. They have clinched the Metropolitan division and could pose a threat to Boston Bruins who are favored to come out of the East.
The Penguins are still a team to the beat in the East however; they are in a good position despite suffering numerous injuries and not being healthy the whole season. Other players have stepped up filling the gap that’s been missing due to injuries, while looking to close the year out on a winning streak with just two games remaining on their schedule. The Penguins are coming off impressive shootout victories over two playoff bound teams the Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Wings Respectively.
This will be the 8th straight year the Penguins have made the NHL playoffs and they have been formidable team throughout the years, but going into this season there are many question marks concerning with their health. It’s been 5 years since the Penguins last Cup victory and the Bruins have gotten the better of them this season including being swept by the B’s in last year’s eastern conference finals.
Luckily, for the fans Penguin playoff tickets have the lowest premium from their regular season average ticket price in the league at 46%. That is the lowest increase for premium playoff tickets in the league. The regular season ticket average for Penguin tickets is $164. Penguin first round playoff ticket average is $239.
The first round of the NHL Playoffs begins on April 16th; the current matchup for Penguins is a favorable one with the Columbus Blue Jackets as Pittsburgh has dominated them winning all 5 games they played this season.
While the Penguins have been inconsistent at times this season, they are one of the most exciting teams in the league and have one of the most recognizable players in hockey, so expect them to make another playoff run.
