The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly called up forward Chuck Kobasew from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

Kobasew was on fire in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Garnering 11 points (10G, 1A) in 11 outings, Kobasew was averaging a point-per-game, and almost an incredible goal-per-game. And one has to wonder where this production was when he was rostered with Pittsburgh?
In 32 contests for the Pens, Kobasew’s collected a mere two goals, both of which came in the first two games of the season. He hasn’t registered a point in 30 straight tilts, and was juggled around the lineup before being re-assigned to WBS.
Now that Kobasew’s back with Pittsburgh, it’s going to be interesting to see what the 31-year-old can manufacture. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, he’ll clearly be starting in Sunday’s game against Ottawa, so, we’ll have to see if Kobasew can replicate his AHL performance.
Tonight’s regular-season finale can be seen on the ROOT Network, and is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
