Pens Injury Report 4/15: Malkin, Vitale Practice

Injured Pittsburgh Penguins‘ forwards Evgeni Malkin and Joe Vitale both reportedly practiced on Tuesday – according to the Pens’ Twitter handle.

While there’s still no confirmation that they each will dress for tomorrow’s Game 1 matchup with Columbus, the news that Simon Despres, Chuck Kobasew, and Harry Zolnierczyk were sent down indicates Malkin and Vitale are likely to play.

That, and both Malkin and Vitale were also slotted in at their usual line positions.

Malkin has been out since Mar. 23 with a foot ailment, and has missed the last 11 games. Vitale’s been absent since he suffered a mid-body injury on Mar. 20, and has missed the last 13 contests.

Expect both of them back in the lineup.

There’s no new information regarding Marcel Goc’s situation – yet.

Wednesday’s Game 1 matchup with Columbus can be seen on the NBC Sports Network, and is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
