Sundqvist was selected by the Pens in the third-round (81st overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, and just recently completed what was a championship season with Skelleftea in the Swedish Elite League.
Performing in 51 regular-season contests for Skelleftea, Sundqvist registered 16 points (6G, 10A, and he also recorded six points (4G, 2A) in 13 playoff tilts en route to his team’s second straight title – per the Pens’ website.
Sundqvist will probably be looking at a spot on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton next season, but he’ll come into camp determined to make the Pens’ roster for sure.
