Zach Sill Re-Signs With The Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly re-signed forward Zach Sill to a one-year, two-way deal worth $550,000 at the NHL level, according to the Pens’ Twitter handle and website.

Sill, 26, split time between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Pittsburgh this past season. Sill performed in 20 regular-season games for Pittsburgh – the first 20 NHL contests of his career – and he recorded six points (3G, 3A) in 18 tilts for WBS.

Sill added three points (1G, 2A) in 17 playoff games for WBS as well.

Although Sill didn’t garner a single point in 20 games for the Penguins, he was an outstanding contributor in other areas for the team. Slotting mainly on the fourth-line, Sill did a masterful job of getting into the other players’ heads, and providing enforcing-style tactics.

An all-around gritty/tough player, if I had it my way, Sill would be on the Pens’ roster throughout the entire 2014-15 campaign. However, because Sill is a center, and Goc was just brought back onboard, his spot is questionable.

Overall, great signing for Pittsburgh.
