Jacques Martin Named Pens' Senior Advisor Of Hockey Operations

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly named Jacques Martin senior advisor of hockey operations, according to the team’s Twitter handle and website.

Martin’s role will consist of analyzing Pittsburgh’s games and how they matchup against opposing teams, but will focus more heavily on how they compare with the Eastern Conference clubs – per the Pens’ website.

Martin served as an assistant coach for the Penguins last season on Dan Bylsma’s staff, and is the only person off said brass to return to the organization.

Martin has 25-plus years of experience in the NHL as a general manager, head coach, and an assistant coach. He has been a head coach for 17 seasons – per the team’s website.

The 61-year-old will be entering his second season as part of the Penguins organization.
