Evgeni Malkin Sings Russian Song With Alex Ovechkin

Is there anybody having a better summer than Evgeni Malkin?

It seems like every year Malkin finds a way to top the summer before, and this one has been no different.

From taking pictures with a replica Joseph Stalin, to swimming with whale sharks, to receiving quite possibly the best birthday cake ever, Malkin has done it all this summer. If you haven’t seen it, view the cake below:

And now, just yesterday, Malkin was videotaped singing a Russian song with Capitals’ sensation, Alex Ovechkin.

Ovechkin tweeted the video of both him and Malkin joining in a little Russian duet, which was first uploaded to Instagram. Check it out.

It’s funny how sequences play out.

At first, for quite a while, there was visual and speculative evidence that both Malkin and Ovechkin were sworn enemies due to issues on-and-off the ice, and now, quite spontaneously, they’ve all the sudden seemed to have buried the hatchet.

Often times you’d see Ovechkin looking to take Malkin’s head off with one of his visciously reckless haymaking hits, but for some reason or another, perhaps the bonding experience at the Olympics, has banished any animosity towards each other.

But overall, these two are winning. I can’t speak Russian, nor am I even remotely good at slightly understanding it, but for all we know they could be singing something along the lines of “we’re awesome.”

Or, “we’re the two best friends that anybody could have” – I don’t know.
