As new acting general manager of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jim Rutherford has reportedly announced Bill Guerin and Tom Fitzgerald as his assistant GMs – per the Pens’ Twitter handle.

Rutherford said that Guerin is going to be more involved with the players, and stated he knows what makes players tick, which he was probably alluding to the Pens’ recent emotional episodes.

Guerin was serving as a player development coach, and Fitzgerald has been assistant GM since 2009.
Guerin won a Stanley Cup with Pittsburgh back in ’09, and Fitzgerald was an assistant coach for the team in that same year.
