The Pittsburgh Penguins wrap up their first month of the season with a tough match-up against the reigning Stanley Cup Champions, the Los Angeles Kings, this Thursday (October 30th). Pittsburgh posted a strong opening month that saw them go 5-2-1 and place second amongst their division, and they’ll look to keep the momentum rolling into November.

That being said, here are 5 November games to mark on your calendars:

After a heartbreaking playoff loss that saw the Penguins take the Rangers to the brink of elimination only to see New York come back to win the series in seven games, Pittsburgh will surely be looking to have some revenge in the teams’ first meeting of the 2014-15 season.

The impact of the Penguins’ loss to New York was deeply felt, as it served as the final tipping point in a long line of underwhelming playoff appearances, prompting the Penguins’ ownership to clean house this summer.

After sweeping changes that brought in a new general manager, a new coach, and plenty of roster changes, Pittsburgh will be hungry to show the Rangers that they have what it takes to put them away this time around.
. It won’t be easy, however, as Boston still boasts one of the strongest teams in the league. The two clubs traded close games last season, so this one could truly go either way.

However, Pittsburgh will hope their new aggression and physical edge will allow them to finally claim a decisive victory against the Bruins, as the game is sure to act as a measuring stick for their future playoff success.
