1. Robert Bortuzzo is in the building.

After being forced to wait to get into the Pens’ lineup due to injuries and Pittsburgh’s strong defensive depth, Robert Bortuzzo has made his presence known since snagging a place in the lineup.

In 3 games this season the big man has recorded one goal (this dandy), one assist, and 12 hits – including 8 in the team’s last game alone.

After the Pens took steps to make their team a more physical, hard-nosed club this offseaon, Bortuzzo has taken things to a new level with his aggressive play from the blue line, refusing to let teams walk away from a match-up against the Pens without a few bumps and bruises.

While the defense will get another shake-up once Olli Maatta returns to the lineup, the Pens’ coaching staff will have a tough decision to make in regards to including or excluding the beastly Bortuzzo.
