20. San Jose Sharks
The Sharks have forged an identity for themselves as perennial playoff failures. They’ve consistently showed promise and looked like true contenders until the post-season rolls around, and this past season saw them miss the playoffs completely.
A roster shakeup may be needed in San Jose, but they’ll give it another go with their core largely in tact and a new coaching staff. Will the addition of Paul Martin provide them with the boost needed to get back in the post-season? Only time will tell, but it seems unlikely.
