12. Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings are a team with aging superstars, questions at goaltending, and a new coaching staff. However, is anyone questioning Pavel Datsyuk‘s ability?
Datsyuk is coming off surgery in late June and will be reevaluated in late September. So, obviously the success of this team is extremely dependent on the outcome of that procedure and how quickly he can return. I like the young assets in Detroit, and if Datsyuk can indeed stay healthy and Jimmy Howard can be good enough, they should find themselves right in the middle of things next spring.
