Blake Comeau – Pittsburgh Penguins Right-Wing (2014-15)
Last summer, in an attempt to add more physicality and grit to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jim Rutherford signed Comeau to a one-year deal worth $700,000. Comeau was looking to redeem himself in the NHL and the Pens had a need for a fourth line wing so the move made perfect sense.
However, the injury-plagued Penguins needed Comeau to step up his role and fill-in beside Evgeni Malkin on the second line. Comeau did so and not only occupied minutes but excelled before breaking his wrist.
Comeau has since signed with the Colorado Avalanche on a three-year deal worth $2.4 million annually.
