The Pittsburgh Penguins are set to face the Washington Capitals in game three of their second round playoff series on Monday in Pittsburgh.

After playing an incredible set of games to open the series, the Pittsburgh Penguins will head home to Pittsburgh holding a 2-0 series lead over the Washington Capitals.

After an intense game two played by both teams, the Penguins will look to repeat their efforts in game three. Game two brought Penguins fans a great deal of excitement. Two-goal games from both Jake Guentzel and Phil Kessel led Pittsburgh’s offence to a 6-2 win. Great defence and goaltending on the other end of the ice kept the Penguins in and allowed for us to steal the win.

Game two also brought us the return of Carl Hagelin, who missed a majority of the regular season with an injury. Although he went pointless on Saturday, expect for him to heat up and solidify our offensive core more.

Fun fact, the Pittsburgh Penguins are a perfect 8-0 in playoff series in the Crosby era after leading 2-0. Talk about a real confidence boost. This game shouldn’t be too much of a battle, but we have to stay on our toes.

The Penguins also seem to be going with very minimal line changes for game three. Sticking with what worked should get them far.

The Penguins will be looking to bank on more Crosby and Guentzel, and Malkin and Kessel magic to spark their offence.
