The Pittsburgh Penguins managed to blow out the Ottawa Senators in game five of the Eastern Conference Finals, taking a 3-2 lead in the series.

With a 7-0 win in game five, the Pittsburgh Penguins are now just one win away from a back-to-back trip to the Stanley Cup Finals. The team has went through many obstacles this season, with the most significant being the innumerable amount of injuries the team has sustained over the course of the season and the playoffs.

Pittsburgh Penguins

Well despite the obstacles and the blocks in the road, the Penguins have shown they are built well enough to still be the best team in hockey. With one game left in the Eastern Conference Finals, it’s time to rally. We need to play very strong and move on as soon as we can. Don’t let them take it to seven games

Offence Solved

The story of the playoffs for the Penguins has been their inability to capitalize in the first period. Never in the entire playoffs were they able to score more than two goals in the first period–until Sunday’s game five.

The Penguins finally showed that their offence can dominate right off the bat by scoring four goals in the first period against Ottawa. Goals from Olli Maatta, Sidney Crosby, Bryan Rust, and Scott WIlson propelled the Penguins to take control of the game.

This is what the Penguins need and this is what they have finally started to reach. If they keep playing like this they will win the Cup for sure.

Goalies are Back

Matt Murray got injured right before the playoffs, instantly initiating the a scenario that the Penguins hoped wouldn’t happen. Marc-Andre Fleury had to come in cold for the first two rounds of the playoffs, but nevertheless he absolutely dominated.

Next: Fourth Line Factor

Well now Murray is back in the lineup, and the Penguins have two deadly goalies in their artillery. With these two backing our team up in net, we have to be the leading candidates for the Cup.
