10 days from now, the Pittsburgh Penguins will take the ice for their first preseason game on Sept. 19 against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center. No worries, though, the Pens will hit home ice the following day, Sept. 20, against the Detroit Red Wings.

Kevin Stevens Named Special Assignment Scout

Yesterday the Penguins announced that Kevin Stevens will join the Pens’ scouting team as a special assignment scout. Stevens will have several responsibilities as a scout and will be in charge of many projects, including scouting amateurs and college free agents. The Penguins know the importance of scouting and their team has done an excellent job thus far, therefore, Stevens will have a big role in continuing to perfect the Pens’ future. [NHL.com]
