DETROIT, MI – APRIL 09: Riley Sheahan /

Riley Sheahan

I’ve mentioned him before as well and honestly, I think he makes a lot of sense.

Being only 25 and having a cap hit of only $2 million, Sheahan seems too good to be true. He can perfectly fill the third-line centre role behind Crosby and Malkin. Although he may not be the most dominant third-line centre, he definitely has time to develop into one. He can consistenly put up between 20-35 points, which is great for a third-line centre.

The Detroit Red Wings are rebuilding and definitely need to shed some salary. A trade here could make a lot of sense for both teams and I feel like Rutherford is taking a good look at the Red Wings right now.
