Pittsburgh Penguins: A Call for Defensive Changes
The Pittsburgh Penguins just lost a crucial game to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night and things aren’t looking too bright.
The Pittsburgh Penguins needed to win against a divisional rival and we couldn’t get things done. We’ve been inconsistent in many areas of our game and it’s been hurting us. We may not be clicking as a unit right now but many things need to change. Today, I am writing this piece as a simple call for defensive changes.
But Changes Have Already Been Made
We’ve been battling injuries with Justin Schultz and Kris Letang, causing us yo shuffle the defensive pairings quite a bit. But I’m calling for new changes, since a lot of them aren’t working.
Perhaps promoting Olli Maatta to play up with Oleksiak can generate something. I just think there needs to be some changes.
The Trade Market
We can always trade for extra defensive help, and honestly, we might want to explore those options right now.
Pittsburgh Penguins
I’m not saying we should trade Kris Letang, because I am very against that idea. However, we could work on swapping some picks or prospects to acquire some immediate defensive help.
We’re the defending Stanley Cup champions who should be going for a repeat. We’re sinking and we may have to take drastic actions to save this ship before it’s too late.
