Pittsburgh Penguins: Don’t Let This Cold Streak Get Us Down

The Pittsburgh Penguins have just three games left on the season.

After a disappointing game versus the Washington Capitals where they lost 3-1 , the Pittsburgh Penguins have clearly not been able to continue the hot streak they had been on for February and March. We are 3-2-0 in our last five and two of those wins have come in overtime. One thing is clear to the Penguins right now and that’s that we have to fix our playing soon.

The playoffs are just around the corner now and we have to get back on track. We have to be on fire again. I know we have it in us and the wins will come. Above all though, we really shouldn’t get psyched out yet with our recent play.

Stay Focused

We have to stay focused on the prize here. Perhaps taking it a little easier to rest up for the playoff run was the plan heading into the final stretch or not. Whether that was the plan or not, we have to ensure that the Penguins are set. We have to stay focused and not let this slump get us down. The regular season record is not the concern here, it’s getting back in that dominant play style.

Switch up the Lines

I think we should use these last two games to resort and try to get figure something out that works. Our current order doesn’t seem to be working and I think it would be beneficial if we use these games to try out new lines. If we can figure out something that works we might want to roll with it in the playoffs.

Use these last few games to experiment a little. If nothing comes out of it, we can go back to our old lines. But I do think some change is needed.
