The Pittsburgh Penguins will head into their game tonight having dropped their last two contests in rather difficult fashion. Will they get back on track tonight?

Last time The Pittsburgh Penguins took on the Coyotes, it was a quite easy victory for the Pens. They steamrolled to a 4-0 victory, and the game featured an excellent performance by Casey DeSmith that led to the shutout. Flash forward to the game tonight, and the Coyotes will be sporting one of the worst records in Western Conference right now.

That being said, this is a game that it seems the Penguins have to have. They are risking getting their third loss of the road trip tonight, and that is something that they definitely did not want to see when the trip started out. It is also important to note the level of difficulty that the Vegas game on Saturday will pose for Pittsburgh, and once again just creates an added performance for tonight.

The Penguins seem to continue to fall in the standings as well, as they have dropped all the way to fourth in the Metropolitan Division. While the playoffs seem very far away, these types of winnable games are the ones that make and break teams when it comes to the end of the season.

The Pens will also be looking to get Patric Hornqvist back as soon as possible. He will be able to bring back some of that added firepower that the Pens seemed to be needing in the past two games.

Overall, this is one of those big winnable games that the Pens have to find a way to get. If they can’t, it’s very possibly going to be a 1-4 road trip, the worst case scenario that anybody could have thought of.
