Pittsburgh Penguins need wins against Columbus
Starting tomorrow, The Pittsburgh Penguins will play their first of three games against Columbus in the next two weeks.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently not in the playoffs if the season was to end today. And while they could make many excuses for why this may be the case, none of them are important at the end of the day. Saturday against the Flyers was the perfect representation of how the season has went for the Penguins. It was a game that they should have had in the bag, yet they found a way to blow it in the end.
As for the upcoming finish to the season, the Penguins hope not to blow it and miss out on the playoffs for the first time in a long time. One way that they will be able to get back on track is finding a way to beat Columbus in the next two weeks, as the team will meet three times in that span. The Blue Jackets are currently ahead of the Penguins by one point in the standings, and the last spot could ultimately come between these two teams.
This has been a very up and down season for the Penguins, and they could really use another big up, especially over these next coming weeks. While it feels like they are going to turn the corner soon, they still have yet to do that. Time is not on their side, and something is going to have to change if the Pens want to find themselves in the playoff bracket.
In the end, Pittsburgh is graced with some top notch players on this roster, and it is hard to see this team not making the playoffs. But, that being said, they will need to make that push that everyone expects them to make. Tomorrow will be a great day to start.
