Penguins Win or Lose This Too Shall Pass

Every day I check the NHL standings.  I must confess, that some days are good, like when I see the Pittsburgh Penguins in a playoff spot, while others day are not so good, like when I see the Penguins are out of a playoff spot.

Today is a good day.

Pittsburgh Penguins as of Feb 28.2023

29-21-9= 67 pts

5th  – in the Metropolitan Division

8th – in the Eastern Conference

15th -Tied in the NHL (overall)

Pittsburgh Penguins are holding the #2 Wild Card Playoff Spot, Eastern Conference.

While, this has been a rocky road for the Penguins this season, and please take note, there are more bumps ahead.   I have come to understand, that throughout a Hockey Season or Throughout My Life, no matter if things were going well or not, this phrase rang true.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

The Penguins started out the season laying some SmackDown on all opponents, only to then enter into a 7-game losing streak.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are games in which, no matter who shoots the puck, it just goes in the net.  Then there are other games when the Penguins could shoot a bazooka puck towards the net, and it just won’t go in.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are times in which no matter what pass the Penguins make, connects with a teammate in full flight and leads to a grade-A scoring chance.  While there are other times, it appears the Penguins are a Minor League Team, learning how to make a pass for the first time.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are games in which the Penguins Goalies appear to be a Brick Wall in front of the net.  While there are other games, that I’m not sure if there is an actual Penguins Goalie standing in front of the net.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are times when you can just see the Penguins Players oozing with confidence.  There are other times when you can see the fear in the Penguins Players eyes.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are games when the Penguins as a team, can defend like a championship team.  There are other games, when I think a Minor League Team, could score 5 goals against the Pens.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are times when the Penguins players simply make the right read, make the right pass, make the right hit, at the right time.  There are other times when I question the decision-making ability of every Penguins Player, who steps on the ice.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are times when the Penguins are at full strength and play with a full roster.  There are other times, when the injury bug hits the team, full on.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are players, who at certain times in a season, simply need to watch the games from the press box.  There are other times, when these same players are simply playing amazing hockey, like playing way over their heads good.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are games in which the Penguins Power Play is clicking on all cylinders and scoring goals at will.  There are other games when the Penguins Power Play is just hard to watch with the naked eye.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are games in which the Penguins Penalty Kill is blocking every shot and killing every penalty with such ease.  There are other games when the Penguins Penalty Kill is like Swiss Cheese.  Ya know, the one with all the holes in it….lol.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

There are years in which the Pittsburgh Penguins will make the playoffs, like 16 in a row.  While there are other years when the Penguins will miss the playoffs.

Either way…This Too Shall Pass.

As stated, the Pittsburgh Penguins have made the NHL Playoffs for a record 16 consecutive year.  This record may be broken, depending on how these last 20 games play out.
