There’s so much to celebrate from this game that it could very well be the Pittsburgh Penguins’ finest game this season. The Pens’ winning streak is now roaring at 4, thanks to a 4-0 shutout against the Buffalo Sabres.

Big thanks to Tristan Jarry for sparing us the usual heart-stopping Penguins drama – this game could’ve been a cardiac workout. So, hats off to Jarry for keeping the blood pressure in check tonight.

Tristan Jarry Records His 3rd Shutout of Season

Tristan Jarry, shaking off an eye injury like last week’s snow off a Pittsburgh driveway, secured his third season shutout. Jarry’s not just back – he’s a brick wall. You can’t ask for more from that man. Jarry stood tall against a barrage of 35 shots, swatting away each one with the finesse of a seasoned pro to notch his third shutout of the Penguins’ 2023-24 campaign. This feat catapults him to the top of the NHL’s shutout leaderboard—at least for now. That’s our goalie, leading the charge with a cool head and an even cooler glove.

Erik Karlsson Continues to Perform at a High Level

Erik Karlsson is top-tier, and I’m not hesitant to say it, even if it earns a few eyerolls from the gallery. He’s been stacking points all season and added a pair of goals tonight to his tally. One was a gimme empty-netter that looked like it had Crosby’s name on it — guess Sid’s generosity knows no bounds. Karlsson didn’t dish out any helpers tonight, but with his assist stats this season, who’s complaining? Even with a couple of minutes in the sin bin, the man’s game was nothing short of solid.

Goals, Goals, and More Goals!

Karlsson and Jarry shone bright, but they weren’t the only Penguins stealing the spotlight tonight. Drew O’Connor finally netted his first of the season, a goal that’s been a long time coming. Assists from Eller and Graves helped him seal the deal. Malkin, ever the ignition, fired us into the lead with his 8th of the season, setting the stage for the shutout.

It was a standout game for the Penguins, taking down a Sabres team that’s known to hold their ground. This victory on home ice was more than just another notch in the streak; it was a much-needed boost to a home record that’s now starting to look up at 3-4-0. Here’s to keeping the streak alive!

What’s Next for the Pens?

Mark it down for Monday, November 14th, 7:00 PM ET: the Pittsburgh Penguins are hitting the ice against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Pens, with Evgeni Malkin leading the charge at 16 points for the season, are looking to keep their scoring streak hot.

The Jackets are banking on Boone Jenner, their top point earner with 9, to light up their offense. Between the pipes, we’ve got Tristan Jarry for Pittsburgh and Elvis Merzlikins for Columbus — both goalies at the top of their game. It’s set to be a head-to-head that could shake up the standings in the Metropolitan Division.
