Blake Lizotte and Connor Dewar deserve more national recognition

The two fourth liners have been excellent for head coach Dan Muse and the Penguins this year and deserve way more love than they get.

When the Penguins build their lineup year-after-year, whether it be through free agency or the NHL Draft, or through trades, they look for players that are serviceable or will be a good fit or are veterans. But for forwards Blake Lizotte and Connor Dewar, there is just something different about them in head coach Dan Muse's lineup, that just stands out.

They have been on the Penguins fourth line all-year long so far in the young season, and have been nearly flawless. They both also have a massive role on the Penguins penalty kill. They both just know what their role is and how to play it and they both are just excellent players in this Penguins system.

They forecheck well every single game no matter the opponent, they are constantly winning puck battles, they are getting pucks out of the zone when it is needed. They are everywhere whenever they are on the ice and they pretty much do everything for the team.

They are two very underappreciated players on this Penguins squad. They also have been playing with forward Noel Acciari, but as of the current moment Acciari is hurt and is on the Penguins injured list so the last forward on the fourth line with Lizotte and Dewar has been a revolving door in Acciari's absence.

But the fourth line in general when it is fully healthy, seems to be one of the best fourth lines in the whole entire league. They all just know what to do and how to play the game and what Muse expects from them night in and night out. They all also block shots and throw their body around for the better of their team every game.

They all just play a role so well and just do what they are told. They fit this Penguins team so well and they need to be recognized more in the national media. They are quite the players.
