The skid continues and the historic miracle run in Pittsburgh has come to a screeching halt very quickly. Reality has now hit this hockey team in full force.
Coming off a Sweden Global Series partial success trip and claiming three of four points, the Penguins had the opportunity to ride momentum and grab the metropolitan division by the horns. They did the exact opposite and have dropped back to back games, claiming only one of four points in this crucial back to back where they no-showed.
Friday they got manhandled by Bill Guerin's Minnesota wild by a score of 5-0 where the Penguins looked so disinterested and looked slow, tired and outmatched. Saturday they had a better fight against Seattle but still did not look good by any measure. Getting goalie'd is a Penguins special, that was a case tonight, special teams didn't come through and the defensive core was not in the game.
After tonight's OT loss to Seattle, the Penguins have now lost four consecutive meetings against the Kraken (0-3-1). Another huge stat-line that is pretty eye opening is that the Penguins have won only four games in their last 13 games but still claiming 10 points of their last 13 games. The Penguins have also now fallen to 0-5 in overtime this season which is mind blowing with the personnel that can be deployed if done properly.
What has worked for the Penguins in the success they have had this season is no longer working and it's very clear that this hockey team now has too many passengers. The call-ups and veterans have been lack luster and have done very little with the absences of Justin Brazeau, Rickard Rakell, Filip Hallander and Ville Koivunen. Good team's find ways to win under pressure and having that next man up mentality, that has not been the case.
Here is a list of earliest return dates for injured players:
Acciari: Nov. 26
Jarry: Nov. 26
Brazeau: Dec. 3
Rakell: Dec. 7
Jones: Dec. 20
Hallander: Late Jan/Early Feb
Koivunen: (undetermined - week to week)
In his post game presser after the OT loss to Seattle, Head Coach Dan Muse was the most angriest we have seen him since becoming head coach of this hockey club. He was not pleased with how his team has been playing in this unsuccessful stretch of hockey.
""Was our process better? It was. But we need to get points... Im not gonna sit here and say that that's good enough. It's not. We're past that. We need points right now""Muse on tonight's loss
Must watch for Pens fans.

HCDM with a statement that should echo in that locker room.
“Can finish”
“Not the standard”
“1 of 4pts”
Needed to be said. But more importantly it needs to be heard https://t.co/mvyYDBwnVi
Another touchy subject Coach Muse talked about was points, he has continued to reiterate about points be so needed as in the month of November the Penguins only have seven points of potential 18 points and have been on a downwards slope with all games being winnable.
"No more “moral OT or 1pt victories and 1 out of 4 pts not good enough”"Muse on points

HC Dan Muse not happy with performance. Need to improve standard.

HCDM in his post game presser with the media was evidently angry. He was fuming and seemed like he was holding back a lot of things he wanted to say out loud to the media.
Muse talked about how he wants his team to push and be up to par and was very vocal about that post game with the media.
""We got 1 point out of 4. That's not good enough ... I'm not going to come in here and say we did good things.""Muse on team standards
The Penguins have a half week to get things together and get healthier and back to "Standards" as they take on the Buffalo Sabres at home on Wednesday, Nov, 26 at 7:00 p.m. EST
