If this player becomes available, Penguins should be calling right away

It is rumored that the Minnesota Wild are looking to move one of their star young players, and if that is true, the Penguins should be all over it.

Everyone knows that the Penguins are positioning themselves to either offersheet or trade for young players to improve their roster and to get younger. There is one player that would fit really well in Pittsburgh if he is available, and his name is Marco Rossi.

Rossi for some odd reason, seems to have fallen out of favor with the Wild and the rumors going around are that he might be moved, and if this is the case, Kyle Dubas needs to get Bill Guerin on the phone immediately.

Maybe a fresh start is exactly what Rossi needs

For a while it seemed like Rossi was a top 6 player for the Wild and really someone that they wanted to keep playing a lot every night.

But as the playoffs rolled around in their first-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights, he was demoted down to the fourth line and not getting much ice time despite netting 2 goals and 1 assist in 6 games.

Rossi is a former 9th overall pick by the Wild in the 2020 NHL Draft. You do not draft someone that high and then just demote him to the fourth line. He would be an excellent fit in Pittsburgh.

Rossi plays a position that the Penguins desparately need

Everyone knows that within the next few years, the inevitable is going to happen. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are going to retire. They both play center, and it is a position that the Penguins need now and a position that they will need for the future.

Rossi originally was drafted by the Wild to play center and he would really fit well as one of the Penguins centers, if they can acquire him, and especially would fit well at center after Crosby and Malkin hang the skates up.
