When the Penguins and general manager Kyle Dubas acquired forward Egor Chinakhov from the Columbus Blue Jackets a little bit ago, fans were skeptical on the price. The Penguins paid several premium draft picks to be able to acquire the Russian winger, but that price looks like a steal now.
Chinakhov had 3 goals in 29 games for the Blue Jackets and now has 7 goals in 16 games for the Penguins. What a pickup the young forward has been. He has insane chemistry with fellow Russian Evgeni Malkin and they just click and complement each other well.

Chinakhov is the kind of player that Dubas has been looking for for quite some time now. A young speedy forward that has an insane shot and can score and needs a change of scenery. Chinakhov looks like he just belongs in the Penguins lineup and like everything is effortless.
He has been a huge reason why the Penguins have won a bunch of games as of late and why the Penguins currently sit in second place in the Metro division. The Penguins would not currently be where they are in the standings without Chinakhov and he has been an excellent addition.

Chinakhov has found a home playing next to Malkin
The long-time veteran center has been looking for a dynamic winger to play with him for quite a while now. And has seemed to finally find the player he has been searching for for years now in Chinakhov. They just click so well together and feed off of each other and it is so easy to tell.
The two can go up and down the ice together and create 2-on-1's like it is nothing and pot goals to give the Penguins an advantage. Both players have quite a release and know how to put the puck in the back of the net at quite a good rate.
Ever since Dubas brought Chinakhov to Pittsburgh and head coach Dan Muse united him with Malkin, the two are pretty much inseparable. These two should be playing together for the rest of the season and should not be broken up by any means.
