The Buffalo Sabres finally committed to trading JJ Peterka late Wednesday night when they dealt him to the Utah Mammoth for forward Josh Doan and defenseman Michael Kesselring. The Sabres had been contemplating for quite some time if they were going to deal Peterka or not but finally decided to.

Now that the Peterka trade is finalized, Kyle Dubas needs to do the right thing, call the Utah Mammoth and offer them one of his premier assets in a trade in exchange for something that Dubas is seeking, a top 5 draft pick.

This kind of trade would really help open the floodgates right before tonight's first round of the NHL Draft.

Dubas and Utah doing business would be a win-win for both sides

It is apparent that the Mammoth are looking to make a push for the playoffs this upcoming season and it is known that Dubas is rebuilding the Penguins and needs all the top-end draft talent he can get his hands on.

Utah made a good move acquiring Peterka and adding him to their offense. But if they were to add a player like Rickard Rakell who just came off of a 35-goal season, that would really help them be a playoff team this year.

Dubas has made it known that he would like to try to move up into the top 5 of the draft for Porter Martone or James Hagens. So, if Dubas and Utah were to do business, both clubs would get exactly what they are looking for.

What could the trade possibly look like?

Well there is a scenario that the Penguins would offer fair value and take back a player from the Mammoth that Dubas is looking to acquire, a young NHL forward that needs a change of scenery and Utah is shopping him anyway.

This trade would be a win-win as the Penguins get younger and really helps their rebuild and the Mammoth add more scoring to their playoff push.
