It cannot be said enough that Sidney Crosby is committed to the city of Pittsburgh and will be with the Penguins until he retires. No matter how many times he has to come out and publicly say that he is not leaving, insiders will still push the idea that he wants to leave.
It is getting ridiculous and Elliotte Friedman keeps entertaining the idea of Crosby requesting a trade no matter how many times Crosby has stated he is never leaving and will retire with the Penguins.
Insiders can say that they are just speculating or that it is just a joke, but it is getting old and it is beating a dead horse, Crosby is not leaving and never will.
Nick Kypreos: I am now more in the belief that Sidney Crosby will be traded; if they're really bad, the likelihood he's traded after the Olympics grows

Elliotte Friedman: I've wondered about that; I completely agree with you; the only one thing people argue with me about is,…
Crosby has said numerous times he wants to retire a Penguin with Malkin and Letang
It seems like it has to be stated 500 times that Sidney Crosby is going to finish his career with the Penguins in the city of Pittsburgh.
He has been a Penguin his whole entire career and that is not going to change no matter what happens with the Penguins this season or beyond this season.
Sure, the Penguins are projected to be bad this upcoming year as the rebuild is chugging along, but Crosby can be a mentor for the next wave of young kids.
Plus, he also has said numerous times he would like to retire with his buddies Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang as all three have been Penguins their whole careers.
Crosby and MacKinnon playing together is cool but will never happen at the NHL level
Insiders like to tease that Crosby should request a trade to the Colorado Avalanche to play with his best buddy Nathan MacKinnon.
But that will never happen because obviously Crosby is a Penguin for life. The Avalanche are way closer right now to a Stanley Cup than the Penguins and it would be cool for Crosby to go chase one more cup with his best friend.
But this rumor has been shut down for years in a row now since the Penguins have missed the playoffs the last three seasons and look to make it a fourth come October.
Crosby and MacKinnon play with each other on Team Canada but never will play together in the NHL.
