The Penguins went into Madison Square Garden Friday night on a 4-game heater. The vibes were high, emotions were strong, and the Pens felt they were ready. But that vibe ended up being wrong. The Pens laid an egg and lost 4-2 to the Rangers and needed to regroup Saturday night. They did just that, defeating the Maple Leafs 5-2 with 2 powerplay goals and 2 shorthanded goals leading the way.

Michael Bunting's powerplay goal was the game winner in this one as he found the rebound off of Bryan Rust's stick and potted in and gave quite the celebration in the victory.

What a nice game for Tristan Jarry

Tristan Jarry had a nice game against the Maple Leafs and is something that pens fans hope they continue to see from him as the season goes on.

Jarry stopped 25/27 shots to go along with a .926 save percentage in the victory. He did give up 2 goals he probably wants back, but he did a good job holding the fort down and letting the Penguins pick up some goals.

Blake Lizotte has been such a good addition to the Penguins lineup

Lizotte is one of those players that really works hard game in and game out. He gives you 100% no matter the opponent and no matter how the rest of the team is playing and it shows.

Lizotte scored a goal in each game of the back-to-back and the goal he scored against the Maple Leafs was an empty netter. What an empty netter it was as he won quite a stick battle against Maple Leafs forward John Tavares, and sent the puck all the way down into the empty net to seal the deal.

This empty netter was Lizotte's sixth goal of the season and has provided quite the spark for the Penguins bottom six. Someone that works hard every shift game in and game out and can score some greasy goals and empty netters every once in a while.

Lizotte was quite the addition for general manager Kyle Dubas and is a deal that he would do every day of the week.
