Penguins put up second straight embarrassing effort in 3-0 loss, drop both games at home to Philly

The worst case scenario has happened as the Penguins lose both games at home and struggle in all aspects of the game and playoffs

Writing off the Flyers is the biggest mistake NHL media and fans around the league made and that would be the Penguins worst enemy as the Flyers have come into Pittsburgh and curb stomped the Penguins with a 3-0 loss and could be curtains for the 2025-26 season for Pittsburgh.

Everything that has made the Pittsburgh Penguins this season has vanished and they fail to even make a tape to tape pass or muster a shot on Dan Vladar.

The Penguins motto this season is "Flip The Script", I think it's safe to say they forgot to do so because now they are down 2-0 in the series and face a massive deficit that's so hard to comeback from especially since they can't score or defend. They face just a 20 percentage odds to win this series now and it might as well be lower with the average amount of goals the Penguins have scored this series which is two.

Philadelphia's defensive structure has worked to a tee and continues to smother the Penguins in all elements of the ice and the Penguins have zero answer for it.

Dan Muse could have made line changes prior to game two but he refused to do so and waited until the second period to do so and came back to be too little too late for the Penguins. He showed his signs of weakness and hesitation and Rick Tocchet saw right through him and somehow managed to gain last change while on the road which is mind-blowing.

What defines this series so far is the Philly rookies have come to play and Porter Martone is for real and is about to be a thorn in the side of this Penguins organization for years to come as he and Owen Tippett has single handedly taken over this series by himself and willed his team into battle.

In terms of the series so far for Pittsburgh after two games. Disaster, laziness, old, not intimidating and easy to play against. Allowing a shorthanded goal tonight highlights a problem that has been a lurking problem all year for the Penguins and it's disgusting how lazy and complacent the Penguins have become on their own power-play. They play hot potato with the puck and try to be so cute with it as if it's a all star game challenge.

NHL Media saying the Penguins would win this easy in the media is pretty comical despite the fact they very well look on course to be swept. For the Flyers, that's fuel for a team with nothing to lose with young stars and a defensive trap system that is the Penguins achilies heel and it's very evident.

Goal-tending has been alright let's say in terms of what we all should have expected before this series started but still is having struggles keeping the puck out of the net and Stuart Skinner can only do so much until the dam gets broken.

Sidney Crosby is too hurt, Evgeni Malkin only takes penalties, Kris Letang is too old and can't keep up with the young talent and speed of the modern game anymore, Erik Karlsson has regressed despite being a known playoff star, depth scoring and bad defense that continues to get burned shift by shift is a good summary to describe what we are witnessing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Taking Justin Brazeau out of the lineup was already a big head scratcher but looks even more like a head scratcher now as he clearly belongs in the lineup and Tommy Novak should be coming out of the lineup.

Game three goes Wednesday, April 22 at Xfinity Mobile Arena and god help the Penguins because it could get ugly even worse then it is now. Only a miracle can save these Penguins and they have to somehow attempt to flip the script otherwise it's straight curtains for the 2025-26 Penguins.
