Penguins should field any calls on this player at the trade deadline

If any Stanley Cup contending team comes calling about Noel Acciari, the Penguins should pick up the phone. He is an excellent penalty-killer and shot blocker and contending teams need that in long 7 game series'.

The Penguins do not have many fourth liners that contending teams would call them and offer prospects and or draft capital for. But Noel Acciari is one of those players because he only has two good values, and they are both special teams related.

His values lie in the penalty killing and shot blocking department. It depends on the team and it depends on the referee crew, but in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in general, there tends to be a lot of penalties called, and Acciari is up for the task when that tends to happen.

He is ready to go out there and try everything he can to clear the puck out of the zone and put his body on the line to make sure his team does not give up any goals or much possession or zone time.

The Penguins might not net that good of a return for Acciari regardless

There is a reality that a fourth line penalty kill shot blocker, does not have much value for contending teams. That reality also shows that the Penguins might not get that good of a return back for him if they were to trade him.

But as previously mentioned, any contending team would be happy to have him for the shot blocking and penalty killing ability that the Playoffs need.

But it also should make sense that Dubas should not expect anything more than a 5th round pick if he can trade him, and should be shocked if he gets offered anything better.

Selling off Acciari is a good idea as he is not in the Penguins future plans of the rebuild

Every Penguins fan that watches the team knows that Acciari is getting up there in age and only serves a certain purpose.

Every fan knows that when it comes to the rebuild that Kyle Dubas is wanting to do, that he does not fit in those plans and either needs to be traded or when his contract expires, just let him go.

But if the Penguins can get any kind of trade return for him within the next few weeks, they should take it and run and celebrate it.
