Two power play goals for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and an assist from Sidney Crosby makes him climb up fifth for all-time Stanley Cup Playoff points, but it wasn't enough as the Philadelphia Flyers take one more win, making the series 3-0 for the Eastern Conference First Round at Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia on Wednesday.
FIRST PERIOD
One lone goal was scored in the first period of Game 3 by Evgeni Malkin, assisted by Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust, recording his second goalofthis year's Stanley Cup Playoff series.
With that assist, Sidney Crosby climbs the all-time Stanley Cup Playoff points list with 202 points, now standing at fifth place in NHL history, trailing behind Glenn Anderson (214).
Shortly after climbing to the fifth place for all-time Stanley Cup Playoff points, Crosby was assessed a two-minute penalty for embellishment.
SECOND PERIOD
The Battle of Pennsylvania is alive and well, with a landslide of penalties were assessed to several Flyers and Penguins just 4:33 into the game. Among those sent to the box were the Penguins' Bryan Rust, Samuel Girard, Connor Dewar, Erik Karlsson, and Ryan Shea.
The Xfinity Mobile Arena stood up and cheered 5 minutes into the second period, as Trevor Zegras scores his first playoff goal, and the first Flyers goal to put them on the board, tying the scores with 1-1. The goal was assisted by Jamie Drysdale and Porter Martone.

The Flyers gets the first lead of the night as Rasmus Ristolainen shoots with the puck finding the back of the net. The goal, assisted by Noah Juulsen and Sean Couturier, gives Philadelphia a one-goal gap over the Penguins

Roughly two minutes after the previous goal, the horn in Philadelphia blared once again. Nick Seeler has widened the gap for the Flyers, scoring a goal to make it 3-1. The goal was assisted once again by Noah Juulsen and Sean Couturier.

Trevor Zegras expressed his desire to win the first Philadelphia playoff game at home in 10 years. "It'd be great. I mean, we want to win—especially this Game 3, with in front of our fans."
The second period ended with the Flyers leading both on the scoreboard and shots on goal, holding a 3–1 lead for goals and a 25–18 edge in shots on goal.
THIRD PERIOD
The Penguins start to catch up, as they score their second power play goal of the night with Erik Karlsson. The goal, assisted by Rickard Rakell and Tommy Novak, cuts the Flyers' lead to 3–2.

Noah Cates restored the Flyers' two-goal lead at the 7:30 mark of the third period. The goal, assisted by Jamie Drysdale and Trevor Zegras, pushed the score to 4–2.

Penguins goaltender Stuart Skinner was pulled from the net, and immediately, Noah Cates passes the puck to Owen Tippet, as he guides it into the empty net, officially making the score 5-2.

The Philadelphia Flyers win Game 3, and is now one win away from advancing into the Second Round of the Eastern Conference
The Pittsburgh Penguins now have an even longer way to go, if they want to advance to the Eastern Conference Second Round. They'll need to win all of the remaining games against the Philadelphia Flyers in Round 1. It sounds like a stretch, but as we've seen from previous years' games, anything can happen in the playoffs.

The Pittsburgh Penguins and its fans don't easily back down, as round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs continue, as Game 4 follows on Saturday, April 25 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, Philadelphia at 8PM EST. The game is available to watch on HBO MAX, SN, TBS, truTV, and TVAS.
