Crosby will finally end his slump to start the season and score a goal or two against Edmonton.

To start a new series, for every single game moving forward that the Penguins play, I will predict a player in the lineup to have a good game against the opponent. And for Friday's game against the Oilers I have chosen Crosby to be this player.

Why is Crosby the player that was chosen?

I chose Crosby to be the player that is going to have a good game against the Oilers for several reasons. The first being that he has 5 goals and 17 assists against the Oilers in 23 career games played against them. He has owned them in his career, especially as recent as his overtime winner against them in 2018.

Another reason that Crosby will have a good game against the Oilers is because he is bound to break out of his slump at some point. This is the perfect game to have him work his magic again and find his game. Especially against a team that he knows all too well.

This is also a game where it is the future of now vs the future of the past. Crosby vs McDavid where the whole world can watch it. And who else to put up a good game and good stats against, than Connor McDavid.

Now Crosby does not have the best linemates because winger Bryan Rust has had a hard time so far this season too. What is usually a duo that meshes well together, is a duo that has struggled together and you usually do not see that every day.

The Goalie Crosby is facing will play a factor in this prediction

Crosby also should be able to bounce back here because Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner has had a rough go of it so far this season.

Skinner has started 5 games so far for the Oilers and has a 3.74 Goals Against Average and an .866 save percentage which are not great stats.

Crosby should be able to feast in this one and help his team to a victory in Western Canada.
