The Penguins goalie of the future continues to impress the Penguins coaching staff in Pittsburgh and in Wilkes-Barre. This kid is for real, and it is about time that the whole league notices him and how good he is. Murashov won the Goaltender of the Month award for October.
Murashov finished October with a 5-1 record, a 1.68 GAA, a .935 save percentage, and one shutout. The kid is absolutely incredible and keeps showing off in the AHL. It is best for his development if he stays in the AHL the whole season and then makes the transition to the NHL next season.

Murashov plays NHL caliber talent to a certain degree while down in the AHL. He is playing talent that he would be facing when he finally gets that NHL call-up either at the end of this season or next season.
The Penguins are smart not to rush Murashov with how their goaltenders have been
General manager Kyle Dubas said during training camp that they would take the best two goalies to the main NHL roster and one of them seemed to be Murashov. But Murashov needs as much seasoning that he can get in the AHL before he becomes a full-time NHL goalie.
He should see the whole entire season in the AHL and get as many reps as he can. He can keep racking up the awards and getting all of the AHL recognition possible. Dubas and company are happy to keep letting the kid develop and wait for his shot at the NHL.
For the time being, the Penguins goalies Tristan Jarry and Arturs Silovs are doing just fine handling the work in the NHL. And then next season, it seems like the goalies will be Murashov and Silovs as Jarry could move on to another team most likely.
But for now Murashov is fantastic and is the 1A goalie of the future of the Penguins. He cannot arrive to the NHL any sooner.
