Team Canada announced their 2026 Milan Olympic hockey rosters today and the Penguins will have a representative and that representative should not be a shocker to anybody. Sidney Crosby was named to Team Canada and will take part in Milan in February with some of the people he played with in the Four Nations Tournament.
Crosby usually always makes Team Canada whether it is the Olympics or Four Nations or any other tournament that involves his home country. Crosby is what makes Team Canada the team that they are every year there is a major tournament.
There is no Team Canada without Sidney Crosby on it. Fans are so used to seeing Sid do his thing on the national stage especially when he played for them at the Four Nations Tournament last year. Every time Canada plays in a major tournament, Crosby should always be a lock to be on the roster.
And the fact that so long ago in the Olympics, fans should remember him scoring the golden goal against Ryan Miller and how iconic that was. Crosby just is the face of Team Canada and has always been counted on whenever they go to the Olympics or any other major tournament.
It should never be a question about Crosby making Team Canada. He is the face of Team Canada and helps spark the culture. Not to mention the fact that whenever he plays for Team Canada, he always has an unreal connection with fellow Nova Scotian Nathan MacKinnon and Brad Marchand.
The three are usually on a line together for Team Canada and just gel so well together. So much so, that NHL fans for quite some time now have said that Crosby should request a trade to the Colorado Avalanche to reunite with MacKinnon.
But with that being said, Crosby is the captain of Team Canada. He should be able to make the roster for them every year they hold a tournament; he deserves it.
