Riding off a somewhat successful California road trip claiming four of six points on the trip and securing a win at home against the Vancouver Canucks. The Penguins walked into Florida to face-off against the defending back to back Stanley Cup Champions, the biggest challenge so far this season for a hot Penguins team.
The Penguins despite what the score says played a full 60 minutes and were able to shut the door in the dwindling minutes of the game.
Florida scored all three goals on the power-play, Brad Marchand was the catalyst for the Panthers on Friday evening and was all over the ice, specifically in the offensive zone, scoring two PPG's. Sam Reinhart was the other Panthers scorer tonight with a PPG.
Pittsburgh had goals from almost every line in the game. The goals were scored by Sidney Crosby (2G), Rickard Rakell, Benjamin Kindel and Connor Dewar. The Malkin line came so close to scoring but was unsuccessful.
Pittsburgh was able to swarm off phases off onslaught and attacks from the Panthers in the second and third period. The Penguins continued to respond back after being scored on and found ways to win the hockey game. The last couple of years in the Mike Sullivan era did not contain such efforts and methods to come away with two points like the way the team got the job done.
After Thursday's impressive win, the Penguins have improved to 6-2-0 and sit close to the top of the NHL. There is still lots of hockey left to play but the new philosophy of this hockey team does look radically different. The question will be, can the team really keep this up or are we getting tricked?
At the end of the day, last year was just not fun hockey to watch. It was brutal. Vibes were down bad. Just enjoy this. No expectation, the Penguins are fun again. And fun in a good way, not in the allow 19 odd man rushes and play fire wagon hockey all night. Structure fun.

Takeaway's from the win in Sunrise
Tristan Jarry turned back the clock?
Tristan Jarry looked like a version of himself we haven't seen since the 2021- 2022 season when he was an All-Star goaltender and helped the Penguins make the playoffs. Jarry stopped 34 of 37 shots and came up with huge saves all game long, including a highlight reel save on Brad Marchand, denying Marchand of a for sure hat-trick late in the third period. If Jarry has/had played like that consistently, who knows what the Penguins could or could have done.

Oh Kindy My Kindy
Benjamin Kindel has already impressed so many fans and scouts around the league so far this season with his heavy hockey IQ and his maturity on and off the ice. The 18 year old has fit into this team like a natural and has been able to carry a third line center role. Kindel scored an absolutely beautiful one timer nuke. His give and go play with Tommy Novak was a thing of beauty. Kindel looks like he has nothing left to learn or prove if re-assigned to the Calgary Hitmen back in the WHL (Juniors).

Sidney Crosby is on fuego
Sidney Crosby led the team to victory with three huge points on the scoresheet with two goals and one assist. Both of his goals were on the power-play and helped set up Rickard Rakell's 2-0 goal from on his knee's. In simple term's Crosby doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon and age has no effect on the captain.

The Penguins will look to continue the winning streak as they return home to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets (3-3-0) on Sat, Oct 25, at 7:00 p.m. EST on SNP.
