It is fair and reasonable for PK Subban to be an analyst in the NHL ESPN studios after the career that he had, because players of his nature usually go into TV after retirement. But it is also fair to say that he does not know what he is talking about and does not do that good of a job as an analyst.
This has been stated in many previous articles before, but it was well known amongst Penguins fans in the previous offseason, that they were going to start the rebuild and signed a bunch of 1-year deals so they could sell them off for prospects and draft capital to help the rebuild.
But PK Subban does not see that and told Dubas to either help Crosby and Sullivan compete, or rebuild, because he did not think he saw one path or the other and that he was in the middle. And Subban could not have been more wrong about it.
PK Subban just RIPPED Kyle Dubas on national television.

“You’re getting paid 7 million dollars a year. Give Mike Sullivan better players, give Sidney Crosby a team to play with. If you’re going to rebuild, rebuild. Pick a lane. It’s on you.”

O'Connor/Pettersson trade was nail in the coffin that Penguins picked the rebuild path
For those that truly did not know that the Penguins were rebuilding, they seriously put the nail in the coffin and executed that plan when they decided to deal Drew O'Connor and Marcus Pettersson to the Vancouver Canucks not long ago.
Dubas even secured an extra first-round pick in the deal and that really should have caught the public's eye that he chose the rebuild path and is doing it the right way.
It is not hard to see because within the coming weeks, he could also deal Erik Karlsson, Matt Grzelcyk, Anthony Beauvillier, and others, to get more prospects and draft capital to speed up this rebuild.
If Subban still does not see this path come the next few weeks, then he does not deserve to be sitting in the ESPN NHL studios analyzing games, teams, and general managers.
Crosby having a mediocre roster around him should also have opened some eyes
Every NHL fan that happens to watch at least one Penguins game, should have known when they look at the current roster around Crosby, that it is not built to win.
Fans of hockey in general should notice that and the fact that the team is trying to rebuild quickly around Crosby and see if they can get at least one more playoff run before he retires, since they are likely to miss the playoffs again this season.
It should not have come as a surprise that Dubas chose to rebuild after how the last couple seasons went.
