This Penguins player should get traded at the trade deadline regardless of return

Penguins forward Anthony Beauvillier should be traded to a contending team at the deadline due to his ability to play in the top 6 and his good forechecking ability.

Everyone knew coming into this season that the Penguins were going to be sellers at the trade deadline due to the little moves they made in free agency and the one-year prove it deals they handed out.

Especially when it came to giving forward Anthony Beauvillier a one-year contract, fans and teams knew that he could possibly be flipped for a late-round pick at the March trade deadline. And with his good play this year and being able to move up and down the lineup and being a good forechecker, he can be moved for a mid to late round draft pick.

Team number 1 with interest: The Tampa Bay Lightning

It seems that every year the Lightning are always looking for depth forwards to add to their lineup that can add a bit of scoring.

Beauvillier does that he can easily step in for someone like aging forward Cam Atkinson or Luke Glendening. Those two really do not do much to move the needle scoring wise and Beauvillier can really help with production there.

Plus, the Lightning have been trying to find a top 6 combination that works, and he can easily play with Brayden Point or Nick Paul if he was called upon to play with either center.

Team number 2 with interest: The Washington Capitals

Like the Lightning, when the Capitals are good, they seem to be looking for depth forwards that can move up and down the lineup and pitch in some goals.

Beauvillier fits that mold for the Capitals but it is not likely that they move him within division as the Penguins would hate to give him to an arch rival and have him shine there.

But he would be good depth addition to play with someone like Dylan Strome in the Capitals top 6 and he can score some goals, especially with this Capitals team destined for the playoffs.

Team number 3 with interest: The LA Kings

It originally seemed like the LA Kings had some interest in dynamic Penguins goal scorer Rickard Rakell. But Rakell is going to come with a very steep price tag that the Kings might not want to pay.

If they want to go cheaper and find a top 6 guy, Beauvillier is their guy. And it would only cost them a mid to late round pick, and that is way cheaper than what the Penguins would ask for in a Rakell trade.

Beauvillier would fit playing with Anze Kopitar or Quinton Byfield and he would really help out in the goal scoring department.
