When the Penguins brought up Tristan Jarry and sent Joel Blomqvist back down to Wilkes-Barre Scranton, they were hoping to get a rejuvenated Jarry. A Jarry that was ready to bounce back from his rough start to the season. But the Penguins saw more of the same that they were used to seeing from Jarry and he played terribly and the Penguins lost against the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-2 on Friday night.
According to StatMuse, before Friday's game, Jarry's career on the road at Columbus, he had really good stats. He had an 8-1-1 record with a 2.39 GAA and a .922 SV%. Those numbers are bound to go down after the recent loss.
Just how bad did Jarry play?
Well for starters, Jarry's final stat line for the game was not pretty. He finished the game stopping 33-of-38 shots for a .868 save percentage. He also gave up some bad goals that he easily should have stopped in the game.
This example just hurts to watch. This one easily should have been stopped but he misses it, and it floats over his glove and goes into the net. Sure, you can say that Jarry's glove hand has been a weakness and it has throughout his career. But dear lord, this puck needs to be in the glove, rather than in the net.
Here is another bad goal that Jarry gave up. He tends to allow a lot of goals that come from bad angles for whatever reason. Nobody will ever know why, but Jarry is just known for this.
This one he should just as easily stop but of course it gets past him. And it was the fact that it came on the Blue Jackets' first shot of the game. Jarry is also known for that too. He tends to allow a lot of first shots turning into first goals of the game.
Overall, there is only one solution, and it is benching Jarry for the rest of the season and calling Blomqvist back up. Jarry is unplayable and is so bad and his contract sucks. He failed his last chance to turn it around and should never be in the lineup again.
