After an impressive comeback victory in game three, the Pittsburgh Penguins will be looking to sweep the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
The Pittsburgh Penguins played an impressive game three on Sunday, coming back from a 3-1 deficit to eventually win the game in overtime with a score of 5-4.
Pittsburgh Penguins
The Penguins rally was led offensively by two unlikely candidates. Bryan Rust picked up his second and third goals in this post-season during the second period to tie the game.
The main star of the night was Jake Guentzel, who picked up a hat trick which was completed by his game winning goal in overtime. Talk about clutch. With his overtime winner, Guentzel became the first Pittsburgh rookie to score a hat trick in the playoffs.
Marc-Andre Fleury also held down the score in net. Despite letting in three goals in the first period, his solid play backstopped the team to victory.
Lines
The Pittsburgh Penguins will be looking to go with what worked, keeping most of their lines in tact for game four.
The Blue Jackets will be seeing some changes in their lineup. Matt Calvert, who was suspended for one game after his cross-check on Penguins forward Tom Kuhnhackl in game two is back in the lineup for Columbus.
The Blue Jackets also announced that rookie defenceman Zach Werenski will be out for the remainder of the playoffs. He suffered a facial fracture after having a puck hit him under his right eye in game three. This is a huge loss for the Blue Jackets on their blue line and they will be looking to fill that hole. Scott Hartnell and Scott Harrington are also out.
The Penguins will be looking to move on to round 2 tonight. With a 3-0 series lead over the Columbus Blue Jackets, they will be looking to come out strong once again and get a victory.
