The Pittsburgh Penguins dominated in January 2022.  The Pens won 10 of the 15 games they played in the Month.

The Penguins entered January with a 7-game winning streak.  They simply added to that streak, continuing to win another three games, to begin the month.

All told, the Penguins had themselves a 10-game win streak, the longest in the NHL this season to date, until the Dallas loss on Jan08.22.

Winners don’t get discouraged. They pick themselves up, press re-set and keep moving forward. So, the Penguins pressed re-set, and put together another 5-game win streak from Jan15 to Jan 25.

The Penguins ended the month of January on a four-game losing skid (Two games in Overtime and one in a Shootout).

Defense

Overall, the Penguins are playing good team defense.  The Forwards are helping in coverage.  The Defensemen are standing the opposition up at the blueline.  And Jarry #35 is holding down the fort.

My View from the Cheap Seats

From December 04.2021 to Jan 25.2022, the Pittsburgh Penguins have been, MUST SEE TV.  They play Fast.  They play Hard. They Score.  They Defend.  They have an All-World Goalie.  The Pens are a 4-Line, well balanced team, poised to make a run for the cup this year.  I can’t wait for the Playoffs to begin.  I like our chances.
