Pens Quick View on the Penguins

Offense

Pittsburgh was lighting the lamp during their most recent 6-game winning streak, in which they averaged 4.5 Goals per game.  During this 4-game losing skid, the Pens are averaging 2.25 Goals per game.

Defense

Pittsburgh is holding down the fort, in general.  During their most recent 6-game winning streak, they let in an average of 2.5 Goals per game.  During this 4-game losing skid, the Pens are letting in an average of 3.25 Goals per game.  The D are getting burned by the long stretch pass.  Have you noticed the opposition is getting behind them of late?

Special Teams

Power Play: Pittsburgh is getting better all the time.

Penalty Kill: Pittsburgh is still amazing and has been amazing all season.

Faceoff Win%: Pittsburgh wins at least 50%+ of the faceoffs on many nights.

My View from the Cheap Seats

This is a tough week for the penguins.  They are currently in a 4-game skid and coming out of the All-Star Break.  Well rested I am sure, but ready to do battle, I am not.

I predicted, in my article, “The Penguins vs the Eastern Conference – Part 2 – Pens Picks”, that they would lose to Boston, then go on a winning streak, beating Ottawa, New Jersey and Philadelphia.

In my humble opinion, comparing and analyzing the data in My Scouting Report, I still feel the same way.
